Don’t Blink! State and Regional Rankings Updated In Last Weekend Before PIAA State Championships
In two days the 2019 PIAA State Wrestling Championships brackets will be set! After last weekend’s results there were major shake-ups in both Class 2A and 3A State Rankings. In Class 2A at 145 pounds returning PIAA State Champion Nathan Haubert (Palisades) fell to Notre Dame – Green Pond junior Andrew Cerniglia in the District XI Tournament causing changes that include seeing Caleb Dowling (Saint Joesph’s Catholic Academy) taking over the #1 slot.
Also in District XI then ranked #1 Luca Frinzi (Bethlehem Catholic) was taken out by Nazareth Area junior Connor Herceg in the 160 pound finals. For his efforts Herceg now moves to #5 and Clayton Ulrey (Lower Dauphin) takes over the top spot.
