Tickets to the GIANT Center in Hershey, PA are being earned one match at a time across the Keystone State. Below you will find brackets and highlight from each region.
South East Regional – AAA Brackets
In the South East Class AAA Regional, two of three PIAA State Qualifiers have been determined as the semifinals conclude. At 106 lbs. Pennridge Ram Kordell Rush defeated returning PIAA State medalist Edgar Garcia (Avon Grove) by a (3-1) score to advance to the finals. On the other half Boyertown Area freshman Jakob Campbell outlasted freshman rival Riley Palmer (Council Rock South) by a (5-3) score. At 120 lbs. undefeated sophomore Wade Cummings (Downingtown East) downed returning PIAA State Medalist Mike Marino (Garnet Valley) in the semifinals (5-3). In the stacked 126 lbs. bracket PIAA State Medalist Ben Ross (Pennridge) defeated Dan Martoccio (Council Rock South) by a score of (5-4) while former PIAA State Qualifier Kolton Veit (Souderton) used a (3-1) win over Lucas Miller (Boyertown Area) to advance to his first SE Regional Finals. At 138 lbs. West Chester Henderson senior Brad Patton upset # 16 in the State Tim Ambacher (Council Rock North) in the semifinals (6-4). #20 Demetri D’Orsaneo (Owen J. Roberts) beat #17 Evan Wilson (Central Bucks East) on the opposite side at 138 lbs. (4-3) to punch his first ticket to Hershey. In a semifinal battle of #12 and #13 in the State at 152 lbs. #13 Jeff Reimel (North Penn) held on for a tiebreaker win (7-5 TB) over #12 Nico Demetrio (Pottsgrove).
North East Regional – AAA Brackets
At 113 lbs. sophomore and returning PIAA State Qualifier Jacob Lizak (Parkland) defeated for the second week in a row returning PIAA State Medalist Michael Scheetz (Northampton Area) and secured his second straight trip to Hershey with a (6-2) decision. Nazareth Area junior Travis Smith earned an impressive win over talented freshman KJ Fenstermacher (Liberty) to advance to the Finals against Lizak. At 145 lbs. sophomore Charles Sell (Bangor) used a (1-0) decision over Nathan Cheek (Wyoming Valley West). Parkland senior Josh Ortman and returning PIAA State Medalist gave returning PIAA State Qualifier Joe DePhillippo (Monsignor Bonner) his first defeat of the season with a (2-1 TB). At 195 lbs. Orlando Miller (Liberty) advanced to the finals with a (3-2) win over returning PIAA State Medalist Jovon Reyes (Louis E. Dieruff).
