State Runner-up Dalton Macri Commits to Cornell

Screen Shot 2013-10-12 at 1.37.16 PM2013 PIAA State Runner-up Dalton Macri will continue his academic and athletic careers at Cornell for head coach Rob Koll. The Canon-McMilan Big Mac enters his senior season with a (92-13) career record in just two full seasons of varsity action. As a freshman Macri was in a light-weight log-jam with PIAA State Medalist Colton Shorts and PIAA State Champion Connor Schram. In 2012 Macri was a PIAA State Medalist finishing in fourth at 113 lbs. In the semifinals Macri fell to eventual 2x PIAA State Champion Billy Rappo (5-4 in TB). In the 2013 PIAA Class AAA State Finals Macri fell to sophomore Sam Krivus at 120 lbs. He had Krivus have battled nearly a dozen times in the last two seasons, meeting in the 2012 WPIAL Finals, the 2012 State consolation finals, and the 2013 State finals.

Macri is a very talented wrestler who is quick and slick on his feet. Macri is capable of racking up big points both from neutral and top positions. Macri predicts to compete at 125 lbs. for the Cornell Big Red and he joins 2013 PIAA State Champion Joe Galasso as the second PA recruit headed to Ithaca.
