According to PAWR’s Mark Morris 2013 PIAA Class AA 106 lbs. Champion Devon Brown will be making the move from Saegertown to Franklin Regional. This will make it three high schools in three years as the junior began his career in Ohio at Steubenville High School placing third in the State at 106 lbs. in Division II. In his sophomore season Brown headed to District 10’s Saegertown where he won the 2013 PIAA Class AA State Championship at 106 lbs. with an overtime victory over Bethlehem Catholic’s Luke Karam by fall in (6:12 SV). Brown ended his first year competing in Pennsylvania with a (48-1) record and his only defeat coming at the hands of 2013 PIAA Class AAA State Champion Luke Pletcher in the POWERade Finals (7-1).

Brown’s arrival at Franklin Regional High School is not a great surprise as many PA wrestling fans predicted he would make the move to Murrysville, PA after Saegertown youth star Spencer “The Kid” Lee landed at Franklin Regional several months earlier. Lee will be a freshman and both he and Brown recently returned from Serbia where they represented Team USA at the 2013 FILA Cadet World Championships.

With the addition of Devin Brown, Franklin Regional now has 5 returning PIAA State Medalists and 2 returning PIAA State Champions in their line-up. This already stacked team is the clear favorite to capture both the Dual Team and Individual State Tournament Championships in 2014.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
