M. Racciato

Pen Argyl star senior Mikey Racciato has committed to Pitt this week. The 2x PIAA State Class AA Champion will enter his final season with a 140-8 career record and seek his third straight PIAA State title. As a freshman he was a PIAA State third place medalist.  Racciato is also one of the area’s top football players who averages over 5 yards per carry for the Green Knights. Racciato is the second 2x State Champion from Pennsylvania to commit to the Pitt Panthers as Canon-McMillan’s Cody Wiercioch gave a commitment last month. This season Racciato will most likely compete at the 145 lbs. weight class in the post-season and figures to fit into the 149 lbs. weight class in college. The athletic Racciato is a dynamic wrestler who will be tough to beat this season as he looks to end his career on top of the podium once again.

Also making commitments recently were two PIAA Class AA stars. Burrell’s Dakota Deslauriers, a 3x PIAA State medalist and 2012 runner-up, has committed to Mercyhurst. While Saucon Valley’s Raymond O’Donnell, a 2x PIAA State medalist and FILA Cadet National Champion, has committed to Princeton.
