Bald Eagle’s Jake Taylor Commits to Cornell
Cornell head coach Rob Koll didn’t have to look far from home to find one of the Nation’s top upper-middle weight wrestlers. Koll, a former PA State Champion from State College High School, has often tapped into the talent around Central Pennsylvania. This has paid off well for Koll who just last season coached Cornell junior Steve Bosak to a NCAA Division I National title at 184 lbs. Bosak, also from State College High School, was a two-time PA State runner-up and will be seeking his second NCAA Championship in 2013.
Jake Taylor will be a solid addition toa Big Red wrestling program that has been one of the Nation’s top in the last decade. Last season Taylor placed third at 170 lbs. earning his first career PIAA medal. As a sophomore Taylor was a State qualifier at 171 lbs., finishing the season with a (33-3) record. Taylor, who this off-season was a FloNationals Champion, enters his senior year at Bald Eagle Area High School with a career record of (89-16) and most likely will compete at 184 lbs. to begin the season. Taylor, who recently won the Super 32 Qualifier at Shippensburg, is registered to compete in the Super 32 at 184 lbs., and will look to improve on his fourth place finish a year ago at 170 lbs.
