It didn’t take long for PA’s #1 recruit in the class of 2013 to decide where he would continue wrestling. Ryan Diehl, who is from Berkley Springs, West Virginia but wrestles for Catholic school Trinity in Camp Hill, PA has given a verbal commitment to wrestle for Kerry McCoy and the Maryland Terrapins after his senior year. Diehl has captured three State Championships, his first two in West Virginia and his first in PA last season as a junior at 113 lbs. The soon to be senior will have no distractions going into his senior year, maintaining focus on his fourth overall State title and his second in PA.

Diehl gained National attention in Fall 2011 when at the Super 32 Challenge he knocked-off #1 ranked senior George DiCamillo from Ohio in the finals at 120 lbs. In his first trip to Hershey, PA Diehl faced his toughest match of the season in the semi-finals when he topped undefeated returning State Champion Jason Nolf of Kittanning (6-4) before claiming the 113 lbs. title with an (11-5) victory over Vito Pasone in the finals.

Ryan Diehl is projected to make an impact for Maryland at either 125/133 lbs. Below is a look at the Top 5 recruits for the Class of 2013. Members of PA Power Wrestling can view all top 100 wrestlers.
