One of the most significant transfers that has occurred this season is a name most PA Wrestling fans will not recognize. Not only is the wrestler new to PA but the school he is now attending is fairly new to PA Wrestling. Ryan Diehl, a junior this season, already has two State Championships, not in PA, but West Virginia. While wrestling at Berkeley Springs High School Diehl amassed a 92-2 career record, winning State AA titles at 103 lbs. his freshmen year and 112 lbs. his sophomore year. Last season Diehl went undefeated and recently captured his first Super 32 Championship Belt in unique fashion. Diehl won the Super 32 at 120 lbs., giving up 6 pounds while doing so. The natural 113 pounder was unable to cut all the way down to 113 lbs. and instead elected to bump up to 120 lbs. despite weighing in at 114 lbs. and giving up 6 pounds to his opponents. This season Diehl will compete for Trinity High School a private Catholic school located in Camp Hill outside of Harrisburg. The Trinity Shamrocks have only competed in wrestling for one season.
