Team Pennsylvania Wins Inaugural Border Brawl Classic
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania team overpowered the Maryland/West Virginia squad in the inaugural Border Brawl Mason-Dixon Wrestling Classic on Sunday at Pitt-Johnstown.
The Keystone State representatives won 12 of 15 matches over their counterparts in a 55-9 victory.
Central Cambria’s Tommy Opdenhoff was named the Outstanding Wrestler after his 6-4 victory over Maryland state champion Isaiah Brooks of North Hagerstown.
The event, which featured high school senior all-stars from The Tribune-Democrat’s coverage area against those from the Cumberland Times-News’ region, raised more than $1,000 for the Pin Cancer charity and drew an estimated 1,200 fans.
