Updated Dual Team Rankings Following State Tournament in Hershey

The medals have been handed out and Champions determined at the 2018 PIAA State Dual Team Tournament so let’s take a look at where everyone ranks now.

There were several teams who made jumps based on their performance in Hershey including District 6’s Class AA program Huntingdon who moved from #25 to #10 after knocking off Greenville, Derry, and Bishop McDevitt. Muncy, who entered the Tournament ranked #7, moved up to #4 after they left Hershey with fourth place medals and notching wins over Burrell, Saucon Valley, and Boiling Springs.

In Class AAA Kiski Are moved up from #3 to #2 after finishing second. The Cavaliers moved ahead of Cathedral Prep despite not wrestling the Ramblers, who finished in third place, head-to-head. Both teams fell to BECAHI and both defeated Nazareth. Prep had a closer score with BECAHI falling (33-26) to the Golden Hawks while Kiski dropped a (38-22) match in the finals. Based on Kiski dominating Nazareth by 17 points, and their overall performance from Hershey, they moved to #2.

District 1 programs Spring-Ford and Downingtown West each made significant jumps moving from #21 and #22 respectively to #13 and #14. Spring-Ford defeated Cedar Cliff in the first round before falling to District 1 Champion Council Rock South in the wrestle-backs. Downingtown West fell to BECAHI in the first round but defeated District 3 power Cumberland Valley.
