Top 300 Recruits in Pennsylvania's Class of 2017 Released

Pennsylvania’s Class of 2017 is headlined by arguably the most preeminent wrestler to grace a Keystone State wrestling mat. That would be #1 Spencer Lee of Franklin Regional. “The Kid” is an undefeated 3x PIAA State Champion who is also a 2x World Freestyle Champion and will head to Iowa following his high school career. Considered one of the top wrestlers in the Nation Lee may headline the list but there are plenty of other notable recruits from the Class of 2017.

2x PIAA State Champion #2 Cameron Coy (Penn Trafford) committed to Virginia almost two years ago following his freshman season when he won his first PIAA State title. Also committing early was #3 Mikey Labriola (Bethlehem Catholic) who will be heading west to Nebraska under the guidance of head coach Mark Manning. The 2016 PIAA State Champion earned his first title in a loaded 170 lbs. bracket.

2016 PIAA State Champion Jacob Oliver (Huntingdon) will be staying close to home as he committed to coach Tim Flynn and the Edinboro Scots. Navy also grabbed a pair of Keystone State grapplers with ##32 Gus Solomon (Franklin Regional) and #59 Wyatt Long (Cumberland Valley). Solomon has faced a string of bad luck over the last three years with injuries that have prevented him from ever qualifying for a PIAA State Tournament despite displaying tremendous potential.

Big time names like #4 Brian Courtney (Athens Area), #5 Jarod Verkleeren (Belle Vernon Area), #6 Max Murin (Central Cambria), and #7 Jake Woodley (North Allegheny) all remain unsigned and will be huge pick-ups for any NCAA Division I program.

PA Power Wrestling will be providing updates and news on where the Top PA Wrestlers will be heading.
