After finishing seventh as a freshman, third as a sophomore, and runner-up as a junior, Tyler final reached his goal capturing the PIAA State Title at 130 lbs. earning the Tournament’s Outstanding Wrestler Award in the process.

The winning didn’t stop in Middletown as Tyler moved on to Pittsburgh where he reached National prominence. In his time competing for the Panthers Nauman was a 4x EWL Conference Champion, 4x NCAA Qualifier, and twice earned NCAA All-American honors finishing fifth in both 2010 and 2012. His 141 career wins ranks him third all-time for the Panthers.

Following his college career Tyler followed his father’s, Mike Nauman, footsteps and entered the coaching arena. He was an assistant coach for the Drexel Dragons, head coach at Belle Vernon Area High School, assistant coach at South Park High School, and established a club in Western PA, Team Nauman WC.

Last week Nauman was named a volunteer assistant coach for Pittsburgh and will head up the Pittsburgh Wrestling Club.

Another former PIAA State Champion from District 3, Daniel Neff (Solanco), was named a volunteer assistant coach at Bucknell University. A 2011 graduate of Solanco Dan was a 3x PIAA State Qualifier and 2x State Medalist. As a junior he finished in fourth and followed that up with a PIAA State Championship in 2011 at 135 lbs.
