NHSCA Academic All-Americans Include 13 Pennsylvania Wrestlers
A total of thirteen Pennsylvania High School wrestlers were named to the NHSCA’s 23rd Annual Academic All-Americans released this week. Pennsylvania Prep school Malvern Prep was head of the class with a total of 12 Academic All-Americans on the list. The lone PIAA representative on the list was Northern Lehigh’s Ryan Farber who is a junior that placed sixth in the PIAA State Class AA Tournament. Leading the PA All-Americans from the Class of 2019 was National Prep Runner-up Shane Hanson-Ashworth (Pictured). The rookie turned in a GPA of 4.0 ranking him #9 in his class.
National Prep Champion Michael Beard (Malvern Prep) was an Academic All-American for the Class of 2018 with a GPA of 3.6 which ranks him #15 in his class. Former PIAA State Runner-up and National Prep Champion for Malvern Prep Seth Janney amassed a 3.9 GPA which ranks him #13 in his class. All four of the Class of 2016 Academic All-Americans from Pennsylvania were from Malvern Prep with brothers Nick and Matt Lattanze highlighting the group. The pair of 4x National Prep Medalists will attend Brown next year and each carry a 3.8 GPA for Malvern Prep. National Prep 2x Third Place Medalist and PIAA State Qualifier while at Norristown Area, Rashon Lusane, will be attending Morgan State next season where he will play football. The senior carries a 3.4 GPA.

Class of 2019
Nick Florshutz (Pennsylvania) competes in the sport of wrestling at Malvern Prep for coaches Nate Lautar and Nate Wachter. Nick finished 2nd in the National Prep tournament this year and had a season record of 33-7. He has a current GPA of 3.8 and is currently ranked #11 in his class.
Henry Hague (Pennsylvania) competes in the sport of wrestling at Malvern Prep for coaches Nate Lautar and Nate Wachter. Henry finished 2nd in the National Prep tournament this year and had a season record of 36-9. His current GPA is 3.8 with a class ranking of #13.
Shane Hanson-Ashworth ( Pennsylvania) competes in the sport of wrestling at Malvern Prep for coaches Nate Lautar and Nate Wachter. He was a National Prep Champion this year in the 106 lb. weight class and had a 42-7 season record. His current GPA is a 4.0 and his class ranking is #9.
Class of 2018
Michael Beard (Pennsylvania) competes in the sport of wrestling at Malvern Prep School for coaches Nate Lautar and Nate Wachter. Michael placed 2nd in his National Prep tournament his freshman year and was the National Prep Champion this year. He had a 2016 season record of 46-3 and has a current career record of 126-14. Michael has a 3.6 GPA and is currently ranked #15 in his class.
PJ Crane (Pennsylvania) competes in the sport of wrestling at Malvern Prep for coaches Nate Lautar and Nate Wachter. He placed 2nd in the 2016 National Prep Championships and had a season record of 45-12. PJ has a current GPA of 4.0 and is ranked #8 in his class.
Chris Hisey (Pennsylvania) competes in the sport of wrestling at Malvern Prep for coaches Nate Lautar and Nate Wachter. Chris is a two-time state place-winner in his national prep tournament, finishing 4th as a freshman and 6th as a sophomore. He has a current career record of 110-29. He has a current GPA of 3.9 and is ranked #3 in his class.
Class of 2017
Ryan Farber (Pennsylvania) competes in the sport of wrestling at Northern Lehigh High School for coach Stephen Hluschak. He finshed 6th in his state wrestling championships this year as a junior. Ryan had a season record this year of 34-5 and has a current career record of 98-24. He currently has a 3.9 GPA and is ranked #15 in his class.
Brian Gola (Pennsylvania) competes in the sport of wrestling at Malvern Prep School for coaches Nate Lautar and Nate Wachter. He is a two-time state place-winner, finishing 4th as a sophomore and 5th as a junior in his prep state championships. Brian has a current GPA of 3.7 and is ranked #11 in his class.
Seth Janney (Pennsylvania) competes in the sport of wrestling at Malvern Prep School for coaches Nate Lautar and Nate Wachter. He finished 2nd in his state prep tournament in 2015 and this year won the title. Seth has a 2016 season record of 39-6 and a current career record of 113-17. He has a 3.9 GPA and is ranked #13 in his class.

Nick is a four-time state placewinner, finishing 1st as a freshman, 2nd as a sophomore, 1st as a junior and 2nd as a senior. He had a 42-6 season record this year and has a career record of 166-19. Nick has a 3.8 GPA. He will attend Brown University.
Matt Lattanze (Pennsylvania) competes in the sport of wrestling at Malvern Prep for coaches Nate Lautar and Nate Wachter. Matt is a four-time state place-winner, finishing 1st as a freshman, sophomore and junior. He finished 2nd his senior year. Matt had a 22-2 season record this year and has a career record of 142-17. He has a 3.8 GPA and will attend Brown University.
Rashon Lusane (Pennsylvania) competes in the sport of wrestling at Malvern Prep for coaches Nate Lautar and Nate Wachter. He finished 1st in his state wrestling championships as a junior and this year placed 2nd. He had a 38-6 season record this year and has a career record of 159-39. Rashon has a 3.4 GPA and will attend Morgan State where he will compete in football.

He is a two-time state place-winner, finishing 4th as a junior and 8th as a senior. Ben had a 2016 season record of 40-5 and has a career record of 149-26. He has a 3.8 GPA and is ranked #8 in his class.
