Eric Hong Wins Appeal to PIAA Ruled Eligible to Compete for North Allegheny

After a long five weeks of not being able to put on a North Allegheny singlet the Pennsylvania star Eric Hong will be eligible to compete right away for the Tigers. The National Prep Champion has been practicing with the program since he moved back to the area after spending three years away from home at private school Georgetown Prep, MD and Kiski Prep.

On Monday December 5, 2016 Eric was ruled ineligible to compete for the Tigers by the WPIAL due to his prior relationship with head coach Sunny Abe. After taking the appeal to the PIAA they overturned the decision on January 11, 2017 allowing the senior to compete right away. Hong returns just in time to make the trip east to compete in the Escape The Rock Tournament held at Council Rock South High School. Hong will be competing at 160 lbs. and looks to improve on his runner-up finish from a season ago.
